hiatus

Ok. I'm back from my 7-month hiatus.

I'm All Stitched Up...

Ok, so I know this looks gross. This photo was taken just moments after the nurse pulled the staples out... OUCH! I'm surprised that the surgeon didn't cut a straighter line. I mean seriously... couldn't they have used a ruler or something? I would have preferred a straight scar. Oh, well.

It was a dark and stormy night... :) Just kidding.

Here's the real story. It was the evening of August 9th. I decided to freshen up my pillows by throwing them in the washing machine. (It seemed like a good idea at the time.) Moments later... I walked into the kitchen... and OOPS! I slipped on a puddle of water in the floor... and tried to catch myself by landing on my left knee. Apparently, the pillows overloaded the machine... which made it leak all over the floor. Ugh.

LIFE LESSON: Rather than washing old pillows, just throw them away & buy new ones. Even a $100 pillow would be cheap compared to knee surgery. :)

I find these kwotes to be kwite amusing. I think they may have even inspired me. in fakt, this will be the first in a series of kwote posts. Let's play a game. "Name that Author". Does Jesus Love Pedro?

I'm perplexed. I can't quite figure out what I think about this, so I'm opening the floor for discussion.

Here's the deal...

Recently, a co-worker of mine told me that he found the funniest t-shirt (ala "VOTE FOR PEDRO") that said, "JESUS LOVES PEDRO". He decided not to buy it because he thought it might be sacrilegious. Enter my dilemma.

Thought #1: Is the shirt itself sacrilegious? His reason for declaring its sacrilege was that the t-shirt wouldn't be appropriate to wear in a bar.

Thought #2: Is it appropriate to wear that shirt into a bar? Why or why not?

Comments welcome. My curiosity awaits satisfaction.

P.S. I will reserve my personal opinions (which have not yet been concretely formed) for a later date.

i'm so glad that K2 has a boyfriend

know why? cuz it puts her in a good mood & she does sweet things for me.

sweet thing #1: she made these chocolate-covered strawberries for me (see big picture). she put them in the fridge with a note that said, "Thank you for always letting me stay with you!" ( see little picture.) you see... Jason lives in springfield... so k2 stays with me most weekends. i'm glad. it's nice to have her around. and not just cuz she makes exquisite strawberries.

sweet thing #2: she cleaned my bathroom. wow. what a chore that was! she even cleaned my rug... which had so much hair on it... yuck... but that's what happens when you have long hair... it falls out when you comb/brush it... and it lands on your bathroom rug. just a part of life.

sweet thing #3: she left a yummy plate of leftovers for me from the meal she cooked for j-man. it was a pork chop, rice, and carrots. yum, yum, and yum.

i'm sure more sweet things will occur. k2's just sweet like that.

hop hop hop

i hop. yep. that's where we went to eat after the branson prom last weekend. since it's easter this weekend, i thought it would be appropriate to talk about hopping. i hopping. so after the prom, we hopped over to the ihop to eat breakfast... including eggs... which is also appropriate to mention at easter. this is a very holiday-appropriate blog entry.

so here are the captions to these pix: K4 is happy cuz she's with Keith. K5 is happy cuz she's with Jerod. K2 is sad because Jason wasn't there. (Jason: you're such a loser! why did you not come to the prom with us? you would've had fun. you missed out, dude.) And the final caption: K3. happy and content. wistfully looking off into the future where she will be happily united with her guy.

mom and dad were there, too. i didn't get pictures of them. i didn't get a picture of me either. oh well.
